The smart water filter

Coffee is 98% water. This water must therefore be of impeccable quality to achieve a perfect result. With CLARIS Smart, JURA is revolutionizing water filtration. For the first time, an automatic coffee machine* communicates constantly with the filter using modern RFID (Radio-frequency Identification) technology. It detects the presence of a filter and automatically activates the corresponding mode. It continuously collects information on filter usage and indicates when it is empty. As a result, filter replacement has never been easier and CLARIS Smart can deploy its optimal efficiency.

Pure water for delicious coffee

CLARIS Smart works according to the professional upflow principle and filters precisely the amount of water required for preparation. This ensures efficient use of the filter. There is never any stagnant, filtered water left in the water tank, which could quickly become contaminated with germs. In addition to limescale, heavy metals and substances that impair the taste and odor of the water, such as chlorine, are also removed. The health-promoting mineral salts are retained. The result: pure water for perfect coffee specialties, with optimal protection of the coffee machine against limescale.

Automatic filter detection

JURA uses modern RFID technology to enable the filter and coffee machine to communicate. The machine automatically detects the presence of a filter thanks to the Intelligent Water System. I.W.S.®). It then automatically switches to filter mode and starts rinsing. When the filter capacity reaches the end, the coffee machine indicates that the filter will soon need to be replaced. If this is not done, the machine activates descaling mode. It then requests descaling after the corresponding period of use. And to perform this operation, the filter must be removed. This means that operating errors resulting from misunderstandings are definitely a thing of the past.
