This Yerba Mate is grown by a third-generation farming family in the northeast of Argentina (Misiones). Committed to environmental sustainability and fair trade, they follow 100% organic farming practices.

They use the entire Yerba Mate plant - stems, leaves and powder - to preserve the rich theobromine content of the stems. This imparts a unique energy and, most importantly, a naturally sweeter taste with less bitterness.

MATEINA

The Mateína company was born from Nicolas Beaupré's (see photo) deep desire to learn to speak Spanish. During his first stay in southern Chile, he discovered mate while he was  employed as a ski instructor at Volcan Antuco. When he learned about the rituals surrounding its consumption and the positive effects felt when drinking it, he quickly adopted the drink that is now part of his daily life in Canada.

Our mate is grown by a family of farmers in the northeast of Argentina,  with the utmost respect for nature and the environment. Our mate is grown without the slightest trace of herbicides, pesticides or artificial fertilizers. The sustainable farming methods used allow the native forest and the yerba mate lands to coexist. Our mission is to share mate, by making available quality Yerba Maté leaves, accessories for consuming mate as well as ready-to-drink infusions.
