Hario V60
What is it?
Probably the most popular manual brewing method of the last decade!
Called a dripper (or filter holder), it's an attractive manual brewing system for lovers of great tasting coffee who want to brew one cup at a time.
It is affordable, easy to use and easy to clean.
The Hario V60-02 is a newer version of the classic Melitta cones.
There are as many opinions on the brewing method as there are baristas, but once you've found your recipe, it's one of the cheapest and most effective ways to brew great coffee at home.
Where did it come from?
Paper coffee filters were invented in Germany by Melitta Bentz in 1908, and are now commonly used around the world.
Hario, founded in Tokyo in 1921, began by producing and selling glass products for physical and chemical use.
The V60 was first introduced in ceramics and glass, then in plastic and finally in metal. The latest edition of the Hario V60 is the copper coffee dripper.
Why the name V60?
The name V60 comes from the shape of the device. It is shaped like a "V", with 60 degree angles. The inner sides also have inner ridges that help with the air flow during the brewing method.
Who is it for?
Nuanced and versatile, the Hario is an elegant brewer for those who want to perfect the brewing of coffee, and are looking for complete control over the extraction.
